I have been too busy to do anything because of homework. Studying, doing assignments, reading, etc. Sucked.
The Region 3 wrestling match is this weekend at Independence. I am hoping to go to that, because me brother is ranked in the state, and I haven't been to any of his wrestling matches all season.
Victoria and I had a little bit of a disagreement last night.
She doesn't yet know that I am not the kind of person that gets mad over one little thing and drops everything he has to do with a person because they did one thing that he doesn't agree with. When something is as important to me as YOU are Victoria, you can't get rid of me that easily, and you shouldn't worry about me doing something like that... ever. I worry about you sometimes, but I don't want to act overprotective. Because that sucks. I just want to be here for you when you need me. And I will be.
It is tax season. That, believe it or not, is good news. I love getting a tax return. Especially when I get it when I am broke, such as now. Hopefully I get my checks soon. Money is good to have.
Josh's Jeep messed up today. Won't start. I don't know what is wrong with it. Seems like it's not getting fire. The starter turns over, but there isn't any fire to the plugs. We are going to troubleshoot a little tomorrow and see if we can't figure it out.
I have been listening to my Billy Talent CD a lot lately. I've had it for a while, but didn't get into it. It's badass.
I bought a shitload of more DVD-R's. I already had a bunch of DVD+R's. I use them for backing up purposes only, of course.
When I get my tax money I am going to buy an extra 80 gig hard drive to put in my computer, and buy a new video card. And, thinking about buying an LCD monitor. If I did that I would be broke. The only thing I use is the computer though. So to me it'd be worth it. Programming and Website. Music and Video. WWW and E-mail. Messengers and Graphics. Those are the only things I use my computer for. Oh yeah, and of course the creation of documents such as presentations, papers, spreadsheets, etc.
Viruses are bad, mmmkay. But, if you live on this campus and have any version of Microsoft's inferior operating system, aka. Windows, then you are bound to get a virus. But, if you are careful, you won't. If you are searching the web, never answer yes to any pop up windows. Never. Do not install Weatherbug, or any other 'free' software that isn't Open Source. It will give you spyware which slows your computer down, and leads to security holes. I have never had a virus on this computer, because I take the necessary precautions. Oh yeah, update Windows and your Virus protection definitions regularly.
Or, instead of doing all of that, you could come to the bottom of the Science building any thursday of the month at 6 o'clock and get Linux installed on your computer for free. If you do not know what Linux is, or not sure if it will do something in particular that you do all the time, come to a meeting and learn about it. Or go to the club's website Concord LUG on the sidebar, and ask a question on the Forum.
Get Mozilla Firefox for God's sake. There are too many security flaws in Internet Explorer, and it's slow as shit. Firefox is small, fast, dependable, and will do anything the inferior IE will, and more. Why do you settle for less and pay for it, when you can have something better for free?
Benefits>Cost. That's how Americans feel about everything. Do the benefits outweigh the costs? When it comes to software, Microsoft charges for their software, and there is a software out there developed by an unpaid programmer somewhere and it will do everything it will and more, and releases it for free. If you ask me, it seems that every American should be using Linux and Open Source software. It baffles me.
If this blog doesn't seem like it has been updated very frequently, it is because I do a lot of posting in the Forum instead of in here. This is just a journal to keep everyone up-to-date with my life. I just posted a massive rant about computer software. I guess I am just that kind of geek. I am just trying to inform the public of something that should be paid more attention to.
I am doing really well in a few of my classes, and not so good in like 2 of them. I am trying though. Time is a valuable thing.
I am going to go to bed, I have class at 9:30. One of the classes I am doing not-so-good in, and I have a quiz in it that I half-ass studied for. If I don't like the class, I just don't have any motivation to learn the material.
