In Geography today, my professor really opened my eyes about outsourcing and politics. See, we are studying outsourcing in there right now... so we kind of fell into politics, considering we are nearing November.
He asked a rhetorical question: "Was there outsourcing before George W. Bush?"
He answered: "Of course there was."
He also explained his point... I am going to paraphrase it.
There will always be outsourcing, no matter who is president. If John Kerry was elected president, god help us, he may be able to get rid of a small margin of the outsourcing, and open a few thousand jobs, but it won't be a significant amount like he says.
The only way to get rid of outsourcing is to eliminate trade with foreign countries. If you owned a huge industry, would you pay mexican's $1 and hour or pay americans $15/hr for the same work? Hmm... Don't act like you would actually want to pay the $15/hr, everyone is selfish and the rich only want to be richer. You would pay the $1. Thus you outsource your jobs to another country. More profits, Bad for U.S. economy. Bush cannot stop the companies from doing this shit, and neither can John Kerry. Unless they eliminate trade with foreign countries, and if they do that... we're fucked. John Kerry's plans sound like bullshit that could get this country into trouble, and into a massive debt, and possibly another great depression. Do your country a favor. Vote Bush and Cheney.
Songs listened to while writing: The Used - The Taste of Ink
Yellowcard - Empty Apartment
Finch - Without You Here
I think that The Used and Finch might just become my favorite bands. I have been listening to them a lot lately, well and Yellowcard. Yellowcard's cd is really good. But the new The Used cd is really good too. Lata.
